The BRAF gene encodes a serine/threonine protein kinase, that regulates the MAPK/ERK signaling pathways, affecting cell growth and proliferation. BRAF mutations are generally found in tumors that are wild-type for KRAS, NRAS, and EGFR. Somatic mutations in the BRAF gene have been found in cancers such as non-Hodgkin lymphoma, colorectal cancer, malignant melanoma, papillary thyroid carcinoma, and non-small cell lung cancer. This kit provides all necessary reagents for rapid and sensitive detections of somatic mutations in the BRAF gene. It uses allele-specific probes to detect six types of mutations (V600E/K/R/D/M/G).
